If you’ve had enough of career politicians, backroom deals & government overreach, I need your vote November 7th Best Qualified To Lead .

SHORT-TERM OBJECTIVES

A SAFE AND LAWFUL COMMUNITY

●  Public Safety & Police Protection must be Job #1

●  Improve Police-Community Relations

●  Increase & fund all public safety at competitive salaries

STREAMLINE GOVERNMENT FUNCTIONS

●  Combine departments/commissions for efficiency and reduced cost

●  Remove government roadblocks to development process

REASONABLE PARKING POLICIES

●  Provide annual parking pass for county residents

●  Establish free and safe parking lots throughout city

●  Establish CLEAR residential parking policies

STORM WATER MANAGEMENT

●  Clean, safe, bacteria-free beaches - the key to our economy

DECREASE SPENDING, TAXES & OVERREACH

●  Slash spending on non-critical functions

●  Eliminate license & tax policies that discourage small business

●  Government should not pick winners and losers

LONG-TERM IMPROVEMENTS

TERM LIMITS & ELECTION CYCLE

●  Limit Mayor/Council to two, four-year terms

     - Election to office is not a “job,” it’s an opportunity to serve (and go home)

     - Current mayor has already served 12 years;  two other council members

are running for unprecedented 5th terms - 16 years going on 20

●  Move elections to traditional, even-numbered years

     - Holding City elections in “off years” dramatically and intentionally reduces

voter participation, strongly favors incumbents - and requires more funding

SINGLE MEMBER DISTRICTS

●  Every individual and every neighborhood deserves representation

     - 5 of 7 council members live north of 38th Avenue North

     - Our current system strongly favors the wealthy & discourages voting

●  Combination of single-member districts and at-large council seats

TOTAL TRANSPARENCY

●  Move Council meetings to evenings to encourage citizen participation

    - Current meetings held weekday afternoons when many voters are working

●  Council minutes must be readily available online

    - Current minutes have not been posted in months

“Myrtle Beach is facing its most serious crisis since Hurricane Hugo. Tragically, this one is almost entirely man-made: a failure of leadership that has led to a wave of crime, public health problems and an economic malaise that elected officials refuse to acknowledge. Worse, they worry more about the “optics” than solutions.  Issues change from year-to-year, but Myrtle Beach is overwhelmed with problems because our government has its priorities wrong and our leaders have failed to put into place the systems, programs, policies or people to solve them.

It’s time for sweeping changes - and there’s not much time left. Please vote on November 7th. Working together, we’ll create

a new beginning for Myrtle Beach.”
